Woohoo! It's the Nokia N8 Black ..

Outstanding optics, refined looks, on–demand TV for channels like CNN and Nat Geo, and a huge array of features take the Nokia N8 straight to the head of the pack. The 12 megapixel camera records 720p video and professional optics from Carl Zeiss combine with a xenon flash, face recognition and geo–tagging to bring possibly the best camera and video package available. The multimedia story doesn't end here though, with the inclusion of a HDMI interface for TV or projector connectivity and Dolby Digital Plus technology for compatibility with home theatre systems.

The Nokia N8 has a 3.5 inch OLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 640x360 pixels. Your own widgets can be added to the three customisable home screens which can be accessed with a simple finer swipe.

The home screen shows live updates from social networking sites and there's a dedicated widget for Facebook and Twitter, bringing them into one application.

The N8 can download applications from the Ovi store via the 3G HSDPA web browser. For music addicts there's an FM radio and Nokia's Music Player. There's 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 48GB) for storing your music files and the N8 can play back an impressive 50 hours from one battery charge, you can listen to music all day long.

Connectivity options are also varied with quad–band roaming, Wi–Fi and Bluetooth. Emails are handled by a unified email client whilst instant messaging capability and SMS in a conversational view perfectly round off any users communication needs. Nokia are also offering navigation for free with GPS and Ovi Maps providing turn–by–turn, on foot or by car, voice guided instructions. The Nokia N8 is a tremendous smartphone package with too many features to mention.

Nokia N8 Black Review

The all new Nokia N8 features a whole host of impressive features, including a 12 megapixel camera, capable of recording video at half HD 720p. It sports the usual Nokia suspects such as a Carl Zeiss lens, xenon flash, and an extra large image sensor. The camera on this phone is definitely the N8’s strong point; it’s unlikely you will find a better camera on a smart phone; perfect for the budding photographer who doesn’t want to carry around a camera and a phone at the same time.

The screen resolution for the Nokia N8 is rated at 640x360 with 16.7 million colours. The screen uses an AMOLED touchscreen display, meaning crisper colours, more detail and less power drain, giving you an extended battery life.

The Nokia N8 features an accelerometer, which tells the phone which way round its being held, useful for apps which use this feature. The N8 also features a magnetometer, which allows for compass orientation; a useful feature meaning you will never get lost while Nokia’s ovi maps ever again (hopefully).

The Nokia N8 case is made of sleek anodized aluminium and comes in a variety of colours, including silver, grey, orange, blue and green. The variety of the N8’s colours is useful for the fashion conscious, or those who love a unique phone that doesn’t look like everybody else’s!

The all important talk time on this phone is rated at 720 minutes GSM, whilst the standby time is rated at 390 hours. That’s pretty good for a smart phone, especially considering some of Nokia’s early smart phone models such as the Nokia N95. The N8 uses a 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery, plenty of capacity there.

The Nokia N8 has all of the usual connectivity of the latest smartphones, including Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI, micro USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm AV connector. The Nokia N8 also includes FM radio, as well as an FM transmitter so you can stream your music directly to your car radio. A very handy feature so that everybody can listen to your music on the go.

The internal memory of the Nokia N8 is a huge 16GB, great for storing loads of music and apps. You also have the option to add a microSD card of up to 32GB, giving an impressive total maximum memory of 48GB.

Nokia’s N8 operating system uses the brand new Symbian ^3 for Nokia. Symbian ^3 for Nokia is a huge improvement over Nokia’s previous phones operating systems, getting generous press reviews.

Overall the N8 is a solid all rounder that includes all the latest features and wizardry. The Nokia N8’s 12 megagpixel camera is definitely its strongest point.
